Iolani Wins 10th Title #Dynasty

Every Iolani coach in a black collard shirt won at least one state championship and looked to share the tradition with the current Raiders.  For the first time in more than the decade Iolani great Coach Dr.Muguishi sat in the stands while Dean Shimamota lead his team to a 43-40 victory over Farrington.  Iolani was lead by Ikaika Phillip with 15 points followed by Zach Buscher with 11 points.  Behind the scenes players like Erik Yamada, Robby Mann, Hugh Hogland, and Pikai Winchester were the reason why Iolani was able to finish number one.  Looking in to next the Raiders loose key scorers Ikaika Phillip, Zach Buscher, and Chris Gallacher but have great underclassmen talent coming up.  Chris can be replaced by Zach Gelacio who posses the talent to be one of the top guards in the stae.  Robert Mann will be the main scorer next year and can fill the shoes of Ikaika Phillip.  Shane Lay has the talent and size to replace Zach Buscher.  6'7" freshmen Hugh Hogland has huge potential and will only get better.  But the key to next year will be Erik Yamada who has been the backbone of this team since he was just a freshmen.  Although not many points are scored by Yamada, he is the general of the team.  Exciting future for the Raiders in the upcoming seasons.  

Iolani and Farignton

The Iolani Raiders and the Farington Govenors advance to the HSAA State Championship game on Saturday at 7:00 PM. Iolani had thier way with Campbell thanks to another great outing by Ikaika Philips. The surprise of the night was the Govenors knocking off the Spartans of Maryknoll. Farignton just came out to play, they were hungrier. Jacob McEnroe led his team with a stellar performance and now they are set to take on the Raiders. Our experts give the Raiders the upper hand with Seniors Ikaika Phillips and Zach Buscher but this is the last game of the season, anything can happen.

Campbell Passes Leileihua 46-35

Campbell's Gilbert Dayanan leads the Sabers with 15 points and 9 rebounds to defeat the Mules.  Campbell will face a talented Konawaena team in the next round.  

Lahainaluna Earns Respect by Dominating Kalaheo 57-27

Cyrus Kama is a name to remember after having 14 points and 13 rebounds against the defending state champs.  Kalaheo's best player and one of the states best scorers Kupaa Harrison was held to just three points.  Lahainaluna will face the number one seed Iolani in the next round.  

Maryknoll Slides Past Moanalua 59-54

The opening round of the playoffs matched two teams with very skilled players.  Moanalua surprised the island on OC16 matching Burnett and Gilmore point for point.  Moanalua proved they belong against what is arguably the most talented team in the state.  Stuart's 19 points and Hine's 18 was enough to keep it close but not enough to out score Burnett and Gilmore who had a combined 51 points.  Maryknoll will face Balwin in the quarterfinals.

This years Seedings  are fair to the league champs but not the best. Maryknoll is deserving of that last seed because their strength of schedule and sheer talent makes them an overall better team then Konawaena.  Our experts believe that we will see Iolani vs. Farrington in the championship.  Our pick to win it all is Iolani by an inch.  Farrington has more talent then Iolani with Jacob MeCenroe but Iolani's hard nose defense a great depth with Pikai Winchester, Shane Lay, and Zach Gelacio.  

Farrington Takes OIA Title

Number 5 Farrington finished off number 8 Campbell in the OIA championship 68-49.  Star Jacob MeCenroe got got some help from fellow teammates Isaiah Visoria who cashed in 23 points and Isaiah Smith who added 18 points.  Our experts believe that Farrington is the only non-ILH team that can compete  for the state championship.
